These paper roll ideas are perfect for days when you need new activities for kids, or even have some projects for yourself around the house! From crafts to clean-up, a paper roll has so many uses!

It’s August and it’s 100+ outside here in Oklahoma. Typical, but that doesn’t mean I’m not cranky about it.

That also means more indoor play. Time to bust out the roll of paper.

Yes, paper. I’m sure you are thinking “um, yeah, that is the simplest, non-new idea. thankyou
verymuch.”

And you are correct. Though, with all the gadgets, toys, videos, etc. available to our kids now, sometimes this simple, obvious sanity-saver gets unintentionally forgotten.

The paper roll is something I have to keep around the house for just such occasions. Here are some things we have used ours for:

We have also used them for:
  • Tic-Tac-Toe and Bingo boards
  • Roads for our toy cars
  • Painting
  • Crafts
  • Super hero capes with string attached
  • Probably a lot more!

And, it is not just for the kids. I have also used it for many helpful purposes including protecting floors (or windows) while painting:

Some other ways I’ve had use for the paper roll:

  • Gift Wrap
  • Car floorboard cover
  • Packing paper when moving or mailing bulk
  • Endless crafting

And, one of my favorite things is that I get it for free from a local print store. Many print stores will set out their unused/unwanted print rolls free for the taking. I usually take about three at a time to stock up.

What ways have you been creative with paper?
