If you have been reading my book reviews so far you might get the idea that I only like books set in the past and preferably with a British accent AND YOU ARE RIGHT. But sometimes I really do branch out in my reading and I thought I would throw out a suggestion for the people who like something different, much like The Girl with all the Gifts.
The Girl with all the Gifts by M.C. Carey is not something I would ever normally read but I browsed the first few pages and I got hooked. Melanie is a little girl who is a little… different. She lives with other children like her at a research facility. This book is creepy and sad but also has something to say about love and what makes us human. It goes without saying that if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead this is probably right up your alley.
