Dollar Tree Ideas for Halloween! See how easy (and affordable!) it is to update your home for spooky season! A quick stop at your nearby Dollar Tree stores, a glue gun, and a little creativity will go a long way to getting your house just right for Halloween night!
Our editor recently put out a challenge; spend $15 at Dollar Tree and see what DIY Halloween decorations you could come up with. I am never one to turn down a decorating DIY challenge, especially with keeping a budget in mind. Want to take the Halloween DIY Dollar Tree challenge too? See how easy it is!
Here is what my $15 got me. I was pretty impressed with the Halloween selection at Dollar Tree! They had a lot of unique and different décor items I was not expecting at a dollar store. Plus $15 goes a long way!

Dollar Tree Halloween decor I bought:
- plastic skull
- glass
- plastic spider skeletons
- creepy cloth
- plastic eyeballs
- spiders
- skeleton garland
- large spiders
- glittery branches
Halloween DIY Dollar Tree Challenge
The first easy Halloween decorations I decided to make were some Halloween cups. I found some black glass cups and a skeleton garland. I cut apart the skeletons and used hot glue to attach a skeleton to the glass. Super simple.

Then I decided to make a tablescape for my dining room table. First I took some candles I had laying around that I spray painted black. The candles, spray paint and vases were all things I had at home and didn’t buy at Dollar Tree. I had bought some spiders from Dollar Tree that were two for a dollar and hot glued them to the candles. I really like how they turned out!

I also so took some bags of eyes and added them to each vase. Then I added some decorative branches. Really easy!

I also found this skull and added it to a pedestal and added in the little and big spiders. (Who doesn’t need plastic skulls for Halloween??) Over all I love how the tablescape turned out!

If you didn’t want to do a tablescape try decorating a buffet or mantle. I used all the same items but hung the netting and placed the skeletons and spiders on it. For $15 I thought it turned out pretty good as well. Both decorating options are a great idea, just find the right place in your home!
These ideas are perfect for giving your home a spooky vibe or decorating for a Halloween party without spending a ton! Decorating, especially for holidays, does not have to be expensive.
Hopefully this gives you some ideas for your own home. Check out your local Dollar Tree or dollar store for ideas! Other ideas for cheap home decor are visiting thrift stores, people declutter their holiday decor all the time!
