I am not a summer girl. I prefer layers, cold, and never sweating. Needless to say swimsuit shopping is not high on my list of pleasurable activities. Fortunately, I don’t have to spend time browsing for swimwear anymore; I’ve found my perfect suit and now they can never stop making it.
I love that the retro swimsuit style has regained popularity. The vintage look is so fun and adorable and accessible to so many women. But at many stores they are selling for WELL over $100 and that’s just not in my budget right now. I was thrilled when I discovered the Catalina swimwear collection at Wal-Mart last year. I bought my first suit in black and just recently purchased another in this beautiful navy floral print.
Now I want to also buy this absolutely adorable polka dot print. Too many choices! I can’t decide.
Catalina Swimwear has been around since the early 1900’s and their Wal-Mart line certainly honors the spirit of their vintage heyday.
This suit is well made and universally flattering. I hate wearing swimsuits that are fussy and make you feel like you have to constantly readjust so as not to cause a wardrobe malfunction in front of a pool full of strangers. I love that I can wear this suit and wrestle my kids and not give a second thought to what I am wearing. Everything stays put and it looks great. Pro tip, if you are well blessed on top, make sure to double knot that sucker and then you’ll be good to go.
Currently it retails for around $35. Looks like some prints are selling out fast but hopefully they will re-stock soon. Which print is your favorite?
