I have an idea for you. Next summer when it’s 100 degree you should take a vacation to Copper Mountain, Colorado, where the summer temperature was a high of 71 degrees. It was glorious! I’ve never been to a Colorado ski resort before but have heard rumors of great things. Let me tell you, Copper Mountain exceeded all my expectations.
Copper Mountain is about an hour away from Denver and about 20 min away from Breckenridge. While it’s a bustling ski resort in the winter with over 126 total trails and 22 total lifts, in the summer it is transformed into a summer playground.
Activities
Copper Mountain has a chair lift that can take you to the top of the mountain. There you can enjoy hikes or you can rent a bike and take one of the many biking trails back to the bottom. I am not going to lie, a chair ride with a one year old is terrifying but the views are beautiful!
You can buy a summer activity day pass for $49. That will include three bungee, one zip line pass, one Go-kart session, unlimited mini golf, bike haul, use of the diggler, chair lift, lake activities and the climbing wall. What more can you ask for!?
Food
There are over 19 restaurants spread across the property for you to choose from and all the ones we tried were delicious. Feel free to stop by for a quick lunch or a family dinner! They have all types of food so they will have whatever you are in the mood for! Plus there are over 16 different stores to shop from and they have something for everyone!
Lodging
The lodging at Copper Mountain was great too! They have different one, two and three bedrooms all at different price points and comfort levels. We went with a middle of the road two bedroom and loved it. The beds were comfortable and the room was spotless. Plus, we stayed at central village so we were close to everything!
If you want to get off of the resort there are a couple of mountains and trails nearby to choose from. The small town of Frisco is only five minutes away with more bike rentals, hiking, shopping and restaurants to choose from. One of the favorite activities is the rent-a-bike in Frisco with a group that will then drive you to Vail. From there it’s about a five mile easy ride downhill back to Frisco. We had friends who did it and loved it!
So for your next summer get away look no further then Copper Mountain Resort. It’s so beautiful and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
