Basketball Baby Shower

If you follow my posts at all, you know I enjoy a good party/DIY combo. (And, if you haven’t seen my other posts, you should really check them out below.)
I was recently asked to decorate a baby shower for a friend. The first place I like to start with baby shower plans is to find out if they already have a nursery theme. If they do, great, I can use it! If they don’t, I have free reign (for the most part)! Also great!

This friend has a tasteful basketball themed nursery. I was excited to run with that idea. Here is what I came up with:

The Sign In Table:

For the guest sign-in I used these cute fill-in-the-blank cards from Magical Printable. This was a fun way to have a record of who was there, and their thoughts about baby.

The mommy-to-be already had the adorable name pillow that was given as a gift that I just had to borrow.

Gift Space:
The gift area needs to be simple because once the guest arrive, the presents will be the focus of that spot.

A simple tassel garland, and some oh-so-cute babywear clipped on worked wonderfully! Plus, mom & dad’s families had signed a basketball for them which will be displayed in the nursery. I loved that idea, so I also had to borrow that and put it on display.

Thunder Basketball Baby Shower Scoreboard

I started with the scoreboard that came from Sister Sister Designz. It was the perfect backdrop.

Next, I stacked some silver pails from my stash, put a basketball net over them, and they became the perfect goals to hold treats!
Thunder Basketball Baby Shower Treat Table decor Pennant

I made the pennant with this name (and the pennant from the Sign In Table) from supplies purchased at a hobby store. The precious crochet bear was a gift from Mommy-to-be’s sister-in-law. How amazing is that!

Popcorn from Popcornopolis and basketball cake pops in chocolate and vanilla from these friends made for easy treats that also did not require silverware or dishes. Score!

We also just HAD to do glass soda bottles for the drinks. HAD to! And, I found the paper straws in the Target Dollar Spot unexpectedly, and it made me very happy.

This might just be my most fun baby shower so far. It was fun to put together, but the most fun was seeing how much the guest of honor enjoyed it!

Thanks, Cait! This was such a fun shower to put together! And, thank goodness for crafty Etsy vendors - the scoreboard was a must!
