We all know why clothing has tags, they carry a lot of important information! From the brand and size to the essential “care” details, it’s something that you kind of need. But what happens when that tag is so bulky it scratches your skin? Or what about those items that reveal your tag? Whether it’s a sheer top or thin sweater, a bulky tag is not something you want to be seen! How can you remove your laundry tags without losing the important care instructions?
On closer inspection:
Yeah that gigantic tag on the seam is not so cute!
How can we get rid of laundry tags without forgetting what needs to be dry cleaned and what can only be washed in cold water with no drying? It’s too much!
Lucky for you, we’ve got a solution! First step, cut off the tag! (Don’t worry, it’s going to be OK!)
Your first option is to tape your tag to the hanger. You can write a short description of the item to keep track of it if you’re worried it won’t make it back on the hanger. You could also poke a hole in a tag and use paper reinforcement stickers on top to slip over the hanger.
Your second option, grab a hang tag (that you can find in any office supply section) and write out your item description on one side:
And the care instructions on the other side:
Slip it over the hanger and you’re set! This is really helpful too when you’re dealing with an item that has directions in several languages. Some of those tags are five layers deep and take you ten minutes to find the right information! This will cut all of that out!
Now there’s no tag poking at your waist AND you still remember what can and can’t be put in the dryer! Why didn’t we think of this sooner?
