I’m a little more than obsessed with washi tape (a.k.a. paper tape). I realize this seems behind the times, but I guess that’s OK because it’s better late than never with this magical, wondrous invention.
If you are not familiar with it, it is similar to the texture and stickiness of masking tape, but lighter and way more fun with all the options of color and pattern! It holds its place well and is easy to remove with little to no damage to the surface material.
When it was first introduced to the U.S. (it originated in Japan) a few years back it was only available for purchase online. Now you can get it at pretty much any mass retailer or craft store.
Here are three ways that I gave super simple updates around my home with metallic gold washi tape.
3 Ways to Update with Washi Tape
1. Update Walls/Bookcase
2. Update Furniture
I purchased this coffee table on the cheap at an interior designer “garage sale”.
3. Update Home Decor

There are endless options for washi tape. I’m sure I would have had more with the gold if I had not emptied the roll. Here are a few more fun ways to play with paper tape around the house, or even a way to use it for holiday gift-giving! Enjoy!

These are some wonderful ways to enhance a home using Washi Tape. I would never have thought about using it in this manner, but it definitely looks awesome.

I love washi tape, and I love these ideas! My lampshades know what is fixing to happen to them, haha! I had truly never thought of using washi tape like this.
