A spooky treat perfect for Halloween parties, post-Trick-or-Treating, or just anytime at all! Try these Rice Krispie Pumpkins, everyone will love them!
It’s hard to beat an ooey gooey buttery marshmallow treat. Just typing those words made me want one! This fun (and super easy) spin on them is perfect for fall and the Halloween season!
Whether you need a Halloween dessert for a party, a treat for the office break room, or just a fun after-dinner surprise, these are a breeze to make and everyone will love them! Kids might want to help make them too!
A couple of tips to help you make these as quickly and easily:
1. Before you get started, spray your hands (or glove if you’re wearing them) with some bakers non-stick spray. This will help the process move a little more smoothly!
2. Use an ice-cream scoop for even-sized balls. Make sure to spray your scoop with non-stick spray too!
3. Experiment with changing up the ingredient amounts a bit. Add a little more marshmallow (but not too much or it will be hard to hold the shape!), more butter, or add a sprinkling of sea salt to your mixture before you shape into pumpkins.
Now let’s make some Rice Krispie Pumpkins!
Rice Krispie Pumpkins
Ingredients
- 6 Cups Rice Krispie Cereal
- 3 T Butter
- 10 oz Marshmallows (approx 1 bag)
- 1-2 drops orange gel food color
- 6 Tootsie Rolls
Directions:
- Place butter and marshmallows in a large microwave safe bowl.
- Warm on high for one minute
- Warm for an additional 30 secs and stir.
- Add 1-2 orange gel food coloring drops and stir until no steaks of white appear.
- Combine the marshmallow mixture with the rice cereal.
- Make small balls into the shape of a pumpkin.
- Slice the tootsie rolls in half and add them to each pumpkin while still warm.
- Allow to set.
How cute are those? And so easy to make! While I love the orange pumpkins, I think it might be fun to try some other colors too. Maybe purple pumpkins?
