Anyone else feel like they could feast on appetizers exclusively? My husband likes to joke that my dream meal is a wedding reception because I love all the tiny bites so much! Give me a plate of veggies, cheese cubes, crackers, and other savory bite-sized foods and I’m a happy camper.
Rarely do I think to enjoy these foods at home, which is funny because it would be so easy! Recreating my favorite appetizers at home is now on my list of things to do and I think a delicious (and easy!) garlic bruschetta is a great place to start!
This is a great recipe for anyone, but it’s really great for those like myself who don’t feel super confident in the kitchen but want to look like we know what we’re doing. ;) This is one of those recipes that looks much harder to make than it really is!
You can easily customize this recipe to your liking too. Try different seasonings, cheeses, or whatever else you’d like!
Easy Garlic Bruschetta
Garlic Bruschetta Ingredients

Simple ingredients for a delicious garlic bruschetta
- 2 pounds tomatoes (small-medium dice)
- ¾ cup fresh basil
- ¼ red onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 whole garlic clove
- ¾ tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp fresh black pepper
- Italian Style bread loaf*
- Parmesan Cheese (optional)
*You can swap a bread loaf for packaged bruschetta toasts to make this even easier!
Equipment needed:
- Bowl
- Chef Knife
- Cutting Board
- Wood Spoon or Spatula
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Dice tomatoes, mince garlic and dice onion.
- Combine all ingredients (except the bread and cheese) in a bowl.
- Let sit at room temperature so flavors that combine.
- Slice the bread and drizzle with olive oil.
- Toast until crisp and golden.
- Rub with garlic clove, and season with salt right out of the oven.
- Top with tomato and basil mixture.
Notes: Drizzle with balsamic vinegar or add crumbled cheese for elevated flavor
