What Christmas Movies Do You Watch Every Year?

Love this? Share it!

Everyone has their own holiday traditions and for many that includes movies. Some people watch A Christmas Story all day long (thanks TNT). Some of you may have to watch 16 hours of The Lord of the Rings and a couple of Die Hards to feel jolly; I don’t know your life.

Every year at some point in December, I watch the same seven movies. I have to do it. If I don’t watch them it simply doesn’t feel like Christmas.

What Christmas Movies do you watch every year

My list of Christmas movies to watch every year:
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

The OG of Christmas movies, now and forever. This is our gift wrapping after the kids are asleep movie.

Little Women

You could argue that this isn’t really a Christmas movie, but why would you argue with me? You need to cry a little bit at Christmas time. I also love giggling thinking about Laurie as Batman.

White Christmas

We usually decorate the tree to this classic. What I wouldn’t give to be in a Vermont ski lodge in the 1950s right NOW.

Home Alone

I was 9 when this came out and I love it just as much today.  Also one of my favorite Christmas movie soundtracks.

Sleepless in Seattle

Another movie that isn’t really a Christmas movie but my Christmas season doesn’t start until I sing some “Harses, Harses, Harses” with Meg Ryan.

The Family Stone

Look, I am not saying that this is a great movie. I know it isn’t. But I love everyone in it and I HAVE to watch it at Christmas every year.

Love Actually

It is ridiculously cheesy and I LOVE IT. Also it has Colin Firth, and you don’t really need another reason. And as an added bonus now you can make Walking Dead jokes while you watch it.

Whether you are hauling the whole family to the movie theater or cozying up with Netflix, what are your holiday movie traditions?

I like to watch Elf every couple of years so it doesn't lose it's hilarious-ness. But what I watch every year, despite my husband's eye rolling, is Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas special!

I haven't watched Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special in a few years and this comment totally reminded me of it! My brothers and I used to watch it all the time! It's especially hilarious in the middle of the night when you're really tired (everything seems funnier then!) I'm going to have to get a copy!

White Christmas, Meet Me in St Louis, and Love Actually. I also like to watch The Holiday!

I'm glad The Family Stone made the list. It's certainly not a "feel good" movie, but I'm so drawn to it every year because of the fantastic cast.
